Okay this is stupidly simple and obvious, but it makes things so much better:

In QP,in the Media panel: USE the "show additional information" text box and simply note in it the common keys for your most-used emulators for any given system (ie: go to path configuration/pickyour emulator/tick the box/and type stuff)

This means you're always one click away from knowing which F-key is save state and which is load state for the system you're about to play

The curse of emulation is pressing load when you meant to press save, or (horror!) pressing save when you meant to press load...

I now wish many other frontends had a simple notes box just before you launch into an emu where the only choice you have is remembering which darned key you're supposed to use
